Hentges is currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated individual to fill our Boom Truck Operator position.As a Boom Truck Operator, you will play a crucial role in safely and efficiently operating the boom truck to lift and transport heavy materials, equipment, and construction components on our projects. Your expertise in operating the boom truck will contribute to the successful execution of our construction operations, ensuring materials are delivered to the right locations with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities:

- Boom Truck Operation: Operate the boom truck safely and skillfully to lift, move, and place heavy construction materials, equipment, and components at various locations on the construction site.- Material Handling: Safely load and unload materials from the boom truck, ensuring proper securing and balancing of loads to prevent accidents during transportation.- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, protocols, and company policies while operating the boom truck and handling materials. Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal condition.- Project Support: Work closely with the construction team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to designated work areas. Coordinate with supervisors and crew members to prioritize material handling tasks.- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on the boom truck to ensure its proper functioning and prevent breakdowns. Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team promptly.- Signal Communication: Establish clear and effective communication with ground personnel to facilitate safe and efficient material handling and placement.- Site Navigation: Familiarize yourself with construction site layouts and terrain to plan the most efficient routes for transporting materials.- Load Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials transported, including quantities, destinations, and any issues encountered during transportation.- Safe Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized work area around the boom truck, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and potential hazards during material handling operations, implementing appropriate safety measures.

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience as a Boom Truck Operator in a highway heavy construction or related environment.Certifications: Possess a valid and up-to-date Boom Truck Operator certification and any other relevant licenses required for the operation of heavy equipment.Safety Record: A strong commitment to adhering to safety standards and an excellent safety record.Mechanical Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor equipment checks and troubleshoot issues.Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.Communication: Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills to interact with ground personnel and construction team members.Attention to Detail: Meticulous in performing equipment checks and following safety protocols to ensure precision in material handling.Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing project demands and timelines while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.Team Player: Collaborative attitude, capable of working effectively with construction crews and supervisors.S.M.
