S.M. Hentges & Sons is seeking skilled, experienced, and motivated individuals to fill our 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift Truck & Trailer Mechanic positions in our Jordan, MN facility. This position includes a $1500 hiring bonus too. SMH is a family owned and operated heavy highway and civil construction company that has been in business for over 40 years. Requirements: • Must be able to diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble, and service equipment as assigned by the supervisor. • Must be knowledgeable on semi-truck trailer repair, small engines and miscellaneous heavy machinery. • Must have experience and understand using computer diagnostic and analysis systems such as Cummins Insight, Davis, and others. • Must have a broad, yet thorough understanding of a variety of vehicle systems; engines, hydraulics, electronics, emissions, and power train on a variety of brands of semi trucks & trailers. • Must possess a strong work ethic, lead by example, and promote and portray company values. Conduct business with integrity and strive for excellence in all aspects of the job. Motivated to succeed and improve skills. • Perform job responsibilities safely in a busy, sometimes, stressful environment while operating and working under varied weather conditions. • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety rules. • Understand the value of teamwork and communication with others necessary to operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently. • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Operate power equipment in all phases of operations, during normal conditions, night conditions, adverse weather, and emergency situations, including hand and feet controls. • Perform routine maintenance, and watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly. • Complete and understand the paperwork necessary for the specific position. • Maintain a clean work area, as well as care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment. • Accurately complete a daily digital timecard. • Other tasks as assigned. • S.M.
