Project Description:
Bechtel is currently bidding for The New Murabba Project Infrastructure” which will be built around the concept of sustainability, featuring green areas and walking and cycling paths that will enhance the quality of life by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community activities. It will also feature an iconic museum, a technology and design university, a multipurpose immersive theater, and more than 80 entertainment and culture venues.
The project will be situated at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads to the North West of Riyadh, over an area of 19 square kilometers, to accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents. The project will offer more than 25 million sqm of floor area, featuring more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and more than 980,000 sqm of retail space, as well as 1.4 million sqm of office space, 620,000 sqm of leisure assets, and 1.8 million sqm of space dedicated to community facilities.
The New Murabba project will offer a unique living, working and entertainment experience within a 15-minute walking radius and will have its own internal transport system. It will be approximately 20-minutes' drive from the airport.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Senior Construction Engineer is responsible for the oversight of contractors’ works and work completion of major earthworks and civil related scopes. The Senior Construction Engineer is responsible for overseeing all appointed Contractor’s job site activities and ensure that the construction operations and contractor’s performance follow project ES&H, quality, schedule requirements, whilst maintaining effective relationships when interfacing with stakeholders and general public.
Essential Job Duties:
· Responsible for construction oversight and compliance of contractors, ensuring works are carried out as per the drawings, specifications and standards, as per schedule and ensures compliance to ES&H plans, quality standards and local/national regulatory safety codes
· Oversee performance of the installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems
· Lead and coordinate with contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders involved in foundation works and superstructure installation
· Leads input to ensure continuous construction work fronts availability through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other service requirements including contractor submittals
· Ensures required permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the specific work at site. Verifies compliance with Permit and License requirements and stipulations
· Responsible for a team of Construction Engineers who will be reviewing and approving the contractor's submittals, technical queries, Field change documents and other technical documents including Drawings and As-Builts
· Ensure all materials and equipment on the site fully comply with international standard and technical specification requirements
· Ensure the closure of project is systematic and complete in all respects
· Maintains an effective relationship with other functional departments and coordinates all jobsite contractual activities
· Provide guidance and technical advice to the Construction Engineers, contractors and monitor their performance
· Coordinates and monitors interfaces with other contractors, lead the review meetings
Qualifications, Experience, Job Knowledge, and Skill set Requirements:
· A recognized degree in engineering or scientific discipline, and/or specialized courses in construction management
· Minimum 10 years of experience in construction projects
· Has proven experience and thorough knowledge in construction of large-scale projects.
· Thorough knowledge of international standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated.
· Experience in arranging and supervising bulk earthworks, excavation, site clearance and utility diversion.
· Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC is preferred.
· Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
· Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor’s staff and construction engineers.
· Experience of working in construction of region connecting projects such as roads, rails, related utilities and other infrastructures like camps, approaches, lifestyle buildings etc.,
· Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of process improvement processes such as Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
· Ideally familiar with working knowledge of Bechtel safety and security philosophies and process on the construction site.
