Role Description:
- Have an understanding of DCS architecture and plant control networks.
- Design and implement PLC, HMI & DCS code configurations as needed. Prior knowledge /appreciation of PLCs
- Fully familiar with international codes and standards like IEC, ANSI, ISO, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, CSA, UL, API, etc
- Experience in conducting or supporting feasibility studies and assessments to evaluate the technical and economic viability of projects related to Green Hydrogen and its derivatives.
- Develop of Instrument deliverables including Instrument Index, Cable Schedules, etc.
- Update Instrument datasheets and requisitions, etc
- Update and generating Control Narratives and Control System Architecture diagrams
- Specify plant instrumentation utilising smart plant instrumentation or equivalent systems for sizing different types of Control valves, transmitters, analysers, sampling systems, flow instrumentation, custody metering and pneumatic systems
- Prepare the I/O list, Control Loop and Logic Diagrams, design field instrumentation, instrumentation and control systems datasheets and sizing.
- Review of 3D design for Instrumentation (Cable Trays routings in the plant and inside buildings, JB and Instrumentation Positioning, etc.)
- Preparation, update and/or check of calculations for instrumentation detailed engineering,
- Preparation and/or Check of instrumentation design documents such as Instrument lists, instrument datasheets, Cable Routings, Layouts, Cross Sections, Cable lists, Hook-up drawings and mounting details.
- To interface with other members of the instrumentation and control department, other discipline leaders and with Client representatives, when required
- Preparation of project technical specifications in line with Project/Client requirements
Role Accountabilities:
- Examine contract stipulations, ascertain requirements and scope of work; review specifications, including Data Sheets (DS), Layouts, Piping Material Specifications (PMS), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), Plot plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings; Evaluate Philosophies, Area Classification Drawings, Fire and Gas Detector Layout Drawings, and other pertinent documents.
- Experience in conducting or supporting feasibility studies and assessments to evaluate the technical and economic viability of projects related to Green Hydrogen and its derivatives.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, codes, and standards pertaining to gas handling, storage, and transportation within the Green Hydrogen industry.
- Preparation of comprehensive Process and Thermal Datasheets.
- Design and formulation of Exchanger Design basis and specification.
- Preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, and determination of plant battery limits and constraints.
- Implement designs in accordance with established mechanical and layout design criteria.
- Possess extensive expertise in the design of mechanical equipment or systems for processing plants, infrastructure, oil & gas, and Chemical projects.
- Conduct detailed process design calculations and develop process design simulations.
- Prepare and review all discipline engineering and design deliverables, including equipment lists, technical specifications, datasheets, BOM (Bill of Materials), etc.
- Prepare and review static calculations for Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers, and Storage tanks.
- Well-versed in Rotating equipment and packages, including Compressors, Pumps, Instrument air systems, Nitrogen packages, and water treatment packages.
- Proficient in Piping Layout and Supports.
- Review of 3D Models, conduct clash checks, and resolve conflicts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- Previous experience of at least 5 years in detailed engineering and design of Mechanical systems for Refinery / Gas / Power / Renewables / Infrastructure projects in similar position
- Mind for identifying new business opportunities, great intercultural skills combined with a diplomatic way of negotiating and closing business deals.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Flexibility and interest in working within an international team.
