We are currently looking for experienced x10 Heavy Vehicle Drivers / Car Carrier Drivers to drive heavy duty trucks including car carriers, flat bed or low bed trailer trucks and heavy goods vehicles; loads and unload vehicles and deliver heavy equipment or goods to various locations throughout the UAE. Assist in the movement of light vehicles at all AFL locations.
What you will do
As a Heavy Vehicle Driver, you will assist in loading and offloading cargo into/from the vehicles. You will also maintain contact with the Planning office to receive instructions or to be dispatched to the new location or to update delivery status.
It is also part of your job to assist in driving light cargo vehicles if required. You are expected to maintain economical fuel consumption, inspect truck and trailer before and after trips and to submit all relevant reports such as trip sheets, fuel receipts and among others.
Required skills to be successful
Holds a UAE driving license for category 3 & 4
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in driving any of the following - car carriers, side curtain trailers, flat beds, low beds, side loaders or any other heavy goods vehicles
Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures.
Willing to work in a huge yard in Kizad Abu Dhabi
About the team
The role will report to the Operations Manager, and you will be working in a very busy and fast pace environment.
What equips you for the role
The ideal candidate for this role should have a heavy-duty vehicle UAE driving license with class category 3 & 4. You will have at least 2 years’ experience in driving car carriers, flat bed or low bed trailer trucks and heavy goods vehicles. You will have the ability to speak, read and write in English and preferably some basic Arabic speaking & writing skills.
