Overview:

Thoroughly reviewing and releasing engineering documents throughout the entire product lifecycle. Offer technical assistance in the establishment and standardization of processes, guidelines, and the workflow for product release. Actively engaging in a collaborative team setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary groups to carry out releases for new product designs, product redesigns, and associated documents via the Engineering Change Management process for the Aerospace product portfolio.

Position: Lead Engineer (P2)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the development, maintenance, and adherence to configuration management standards and processes for aerospace products.
  • Review and approve technical documentation to ensure compliance with relevant national/international standards, company guidelines, work instructions, design criteria, and customer specifications.
  • Managing the release of various documents in accordance with workflow guidelines and requirements using tools such as Teamcenter.
  • Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the complete product lifecycle, including various release stages, disposition procedures, and deviations.
  • Supporting the development of drawing standards and guidelines to meet specific requirements.
  • Detailed understanding on the processes steps and achieve the high process maturity and eliminating turn backs.
  • Updating documents, managing revision changes in SAP, and reviewing 3D models, drawings, and other documents in Teamcenter.
  • Creating detailed definitions of material characteristics (classification matrix) to build a database for devices, assemblies, individual parts, and standard components.
  • Assisting and participating in Change Review meetings.
  • Supporting engineering processes related to global trade compliance.
  • Conducting export classification for documents.
  • Contributing to REACh initiatives within engineering.
  • Serving as an event leader in continuous improvement initiatives through kaizen events.
  • Assisting in procuring various international norms and standards.
  • Identifying and participating in cost-saving opportunities within existing processes and working towards target realization.
  • Obtaining necessary approvals for deviations from target agreements (e.g., deadlines, costs) and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Supporting the preparation and execution of internal and external audits.
  • Delivering training to team members on drawing guidelines and standards.
  • Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and designers to understand the complete workflow of the release process and prioritize document releases based on input from cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft tools.
  • Exhibiting strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 - 6 years of relevant Industry experience.
  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in mechanical

Primary Skills:

  • 2+ Years Experience in CAD tools (Catia V5, NX, Solid works, solid edge etc ).
  • 2+ Years Experience in handling documents in PLM Teamcenter, SAP, and other tools. Teamcenter experience is must.
  • Experience in reviewing standards.
  • Experience in reviewing engineering documents, preparing, and establishing standard templates.
  • Knowledge in GD&T, ASME /DIN /ISO standards.

Preferred skills:

  • Macro development and automation.
  • Knowledge on AS 9100
