Hentges is currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated individual to fill our Master Semi Truck/Trailer Mechanic position.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Semi Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team on the day shift. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining semi trucks and trailers to ensure their safe and efficient operation. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems, along with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.Responsibilities:Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on semi trucks and trailers, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical components. Use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot complex issues. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to aid in the repair process. Conduct thorough inspections of semi trucks and trailers to assess overall condition and recommend repairs or replacements as necessary. Perform welding, fabrication, and metalwork to repair and modify trailer components. Conduct thorough testing and quality control checks to ensure repairs are completed to high standards. Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours for each job. Provide guidance and training to less experienced mechanics as needed. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. Stay up to date with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in truck and trailer maintenance and repair.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics is preferred. Proven experience as a Master Semi Truck and Trailer Mechanic, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems. Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, computerized systems, and software for vehicle diagnostics. Welding and fabrication skills. Excellent understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to the maintenance and repair of semi trucks and trailers. Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Good communication skills and the ability to interact with customers, supervisors, and other team members. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record with CDLS.M.
