Overview

The Movement Coordinator must be capable of monitoring, but not limited to, the following movement control functions: Customer Service; Convoy Briefings; Staging Area Management; Customs Declarations; Movement Control Reports; Transportation Movement Requests, Container Management and movement requests: and Safety Briefings. The Movement Coordinator must be familiar with heavy equipment to include, but not limited to forklifts, RTCHs, flatbeds, lowboys, and cranes.

Responsibilities

  1. Monitors all transportation movement.
  2. Process all movement requests (TMR, CMR)
  3. Responsible for monitoring scheduled movements.
  4. Ensures security has been coordinated; link up teams and Movement Control Teams (MCTs) for required moves..
  5. Tracks all TMR IAW with current TO and WI.
  6. Contacts vendor when assets are not received by required times.
  7. Maintains historical data on all movements.
  8. Posses the ability to perform movement control operations.
  9. Must be acquainted with (MHE) material handling equipment operations, ie, Forklift 4K, 6K, 10K, 12K, 14K, and 100K container handlers.
  10. Leads cargo trucks convoy and has overall responsibility for mission coordination, preparation, equipment safety and accountability.
  11. Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent work experience in related field.
    • Ability to obtain on-post license and/or Qatar/Host Nation driver’s license.
    • Ability to obtain Smart Card.
  • Experience:
    • Three (3) years of related work experience within the transportation field.
    • High school diploma or equivalent work experience in related field.
    • Ability to obtain on-post license and/or Qatar/Host Nation driver’s license.
    • Ability to obtain Smart Card.
    • Incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of English comprehension, including speaking, understanding, reading, writing and typing.
    • Must be detailed oriented and organized.
  • Skills:
    • Must be team oriented; possess excellent organizational, time management skills to include analyses.
    • Must be computer and software literate, experienced in Microsoft applications.
    • Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required.
    • Knowledgeable in movement operations and knows how to process TMRs, and TCMDs.
    • Familiar with U.S. military branches of service.
    • Ability to work under fast paced and adverse conditions.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working Environment:
    • Work is generally conducted in an outdoor areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published company work rules.
