Title:

Specialist Telecommunication

1. QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in telecom engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including minimum (5) years, preferred in GCC region. Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position in a mega Offshore Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.

Works with a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers from EPC Contractors, Telecom System Integrator (TSI) or Telecommunication vendors.

2. JOB PURPOSE:

Works closely with the telecom specialists and engineers from Contractors/ Consultants/TSI to ensure application of COMPANY and industry standards during the EPC Project phases in a manner that meets Project design requirements within the cost and schedule targets set by COMPANY.

3. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review/revise all relevant engineering deliverables prepared by Contractor/ Consultant and ensure that COMPANY provided comments are included in Project Documents.
  • Participate in relevant workshops providing necessary technical input to ensure installations are meeting project requirements.
  • Respond to technical queries from Contractors/ Consultants and others, as deemed necessary in respect to relevant discipline.
  • Review Contractors/TSI designs for compliance with Project requirements and specifications and propose necessary amendments.
  • Review requests for Design Deviations / Concession Requests proposed by Contractors/Telecom System Integrator or Telecom Vendors.
  • Review technical content of variation orders in the Project Contract.
  • Review project specifications and propose amendments as needed to meet Project requirements.
  • Review of relevant equipment design/configuration to meet Project expansion and future growth requirements.
